 With the support of Socially Responsible Businesses, Southern Junction is able to ‘dynamically respond to the changing needs of the communities’ in which we work.

What are Socially Responsible Businesses (SRB’s)? 

  • SRB’s are businesses that recognise that good ‘corporate citizenship’ extends beyond simply abiding by the law and embraces obligations to the wider community.
  • SRB’s seek to behave ethically and to improve quality of life for their workforce, families and the broader community whilst pursuing strong economic performance.
  • SRB workplaces foster positive organisational cultures that staff are proud to be part of and contribute to.

When your business supports the work of Southern Junction, we recognise you by: 

  • Providing a ‘Socially Responsible Business’ Logo which can be proudly displayed at your premises and used in your marketing materials 
  • Proudly displaying your business name and logo on the SJCS Web Site 
  • Awarding Diamond, Gold or Silver status, depending on the level and duration of your commitment 
  • Inviting you and your staff to some great business networking events!
  • Providing you with articles for your staff newsletter and other information about the difference your support is making in the Southern Adelaide and Fleurieu Peninsula regions 

How can your business support the Community Building work of Southern Junction? 

  • Promote the ‘One for Many’ Payroll Giving Scheme - Encourage and  enable staff to make regular tax deductible donations to charities of their choice via your payroll system 

  • Commit to $ for $ matching of all staff donations so they know your serious about doing it with them 
  • Make direct donations to support the work of Southern Junction with vulnerable children, disadvantaged young people and families 
  • Encouraging and/or supporting staff to volunteer their time and skills

Speak with your employer and/or other staff members about how your workplace might be able to contribute to the work of Southern Junction:

    • Do you want to change lives by making regular Tax Deductible donations via the payroll system at your workplace?
    • Will your workplace run a casual day or host an event to raise funds?
    • Could your workmates bring grocery items and personal hygiene items that can be provided to people who are dealing with trauma, crisis and/or periods of homelessness?
    • Is your employer willing to make $ for $ matching of any funds that you raise?
    • If you are running or walking in the Sunday Mail City-Bay Fun Run (Link to Sunday Mail web page), why not put your ‘Feet on the Street’ for Homeless families by joining us in the Feet on the Street Team  and signing up some sponsors this year?

Receive a Certificate of Recognition and Socially Responsible Business sticker that you can proudly display in a prominent position at your place of business.

How will Southern Junction use the funds raised by Socially Responsible Businesses? 

Your donations to the Southern Family Benefit Fund will enable the committed staff of Southern Junction to: 

  • Support disadvantaged families with vulnerable children
  • Provide parent effectiveness training
  • Enable struggling young people and families to access professional counselling and support groups
  • Participate in ‘Small Steps’ (supported) Playgroups
  • Access food and goods when the family pantry is bare
  • Receive a Christmas Hamper of food and small gifts
 

Provide safe places where people can meet, learn and play
