Communities for Children - 'Southern Family Links' Project

The project aims to work with and through a wide range of community service agencies in the southern metropolitan area that provide universal child and family services. Specific emphasis will be targeted on those agencies with links to high risk families in order to gain a better understanding of the barriers that confront and impede the access of families to services.

Advice and support will be provided to service providers to provide action research projects that are focussed on improving client access to services and their effectiveness. Information will be sought through a variety of community development strategies including focus groups, surveys and community consultations

It is envisaged that the project will identify key stakeholders who will form a Community Reference Group. This network will raise awareness of the factors that impact on access. Information strategies including the development of a ‘Family Pathfinder’ website are envisaged.
