Junction House
Junction House
is an eight bed residential care unit funded through the
Supported Accommodation Assistance Program (SAAP). The unit is
staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week with active day and
afternoon shifts and passive over night shifts (sleepovers). On
the sleepover staff sleep at the property and are therefore
available to respond to crises as required. Residential Care
workers are responsible for providing a home-like environment
and aim to assist and support young people between the ages of
14 and 18 years who are homeless and/or at risk of homelessness
to develop independent living skills, to be active in their
community, to access and attend educational or employment
options and to move toward to more independent living
situations.
